You have the power, at any given moment, to say “Oh no, this is not how this story is going to end”. My passion is helping you find peace in your life by assisting to empower you to succeed in overcoming difficulties and adversities. I believe therapy is a way to practice and balance strategies of acceptance and change. My style is warm, active and encouraging.

While focusing on issues of the past and future are important to some degree in therapy, or attention will return to the power and wisdom of the present moment. In therapy we will practice increasing moment-to-moment awareness of thoughts, emotions, sensations and behaviors. My approach is rooted in a mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioral model, while integrating other therapeutic modalities to meet my client’s unique needs.

I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples and families who are dealing with such issues as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, family difficulties, relationship issues, gender and sexuality issues, grief and loss, separation and divorce/co-parenting, and life transitions. I have specific training and experience working with LGBT individuals, couples and families.

I hold a Bachelors Degree from Mercyhurst College (now University) and a Master of Social Work degree from West Virginia University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Pennsylvania.

I welcome clients to create a safe and welcoming environment for exploration. I hope to assist clients in reaching their true potential while helping them to create their own unique tool box of skills to maintain health, happiness and resiliency. I take a mindfulness approach to therapy, yet incorporate different therapy modalities to fit each client’s need. I develop and incorporate the building of coping strategies while staying connected to mind and body, helping clients find their own strengths and voice in this world.

I specialize in working with the LGBT population. I also specialize in women’s issues and relationship issues. I work with individuals, couples and families.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania. I obtained my undergraduate degree from Gannon University in Social Work and a Master’s degree from Edinboro University, also in Social Worker.
